Atomizer

In Atomizer's five year existence the band have released three albums, three 7" EP's as well as appearing on numerous compilations. Having just released their strongest work to date in the guise of 'The Only Weapon Of Choice - 13 Odes To Power, Decimation And Conquest', the Atomizer machine rolls on.

Recorded sporadically in the band's home city of Melbourne, the album was mixed in Sydney at Amethyst studios by former Dimmu Borgir/The Kovenant guitarist Astennu. The mastering was conducted at one of Australia's most prestigious mastering suites, Crystal, and all involved are extremely pleased with the final results.

A hybrid of Black-Death and thrash metal, Atomizer's history reads: Formed in Melbourne, Australia back in August 1998, Atomizer's life as a band began typically with a demo, 'Atomic Metal Power' which was released in December of the same year. Dissatisfied with the final results the demo was never officially released, and from the few offered the opportunity to hear it, the band were offered two deals. Choosing to sign with French vinyl cult End All Life Productions, the first Atomizer album 'The End Of Forever' was released in April 2000 and was followed by a 12 date national tour of New Zealand. The LP version sold out quite fast, and was followed by a CD version, released by The Devil's Own Records some months later.

Atomizer's next release was a 7" EP titled 'Gimme Natural Selection' and that was unleashed in January 2002 by Nihilist Void Records from Norway. The EP sold out in just a few weeks. Just prior to this, Atomizer recorded their second album 'Death Mutation Disease Annihilation' was was again released on vinyl by End All Life Productions in April 2002, just prior to the band's second tour of New Zealand. The CD version of 'DMDA' was released by another French label, Drakkar Productions in September 2002 and has garnered favourable reviews.

In December 2001, Atomizer commenced work on their third album, 'The Only Weapon Of Choice' which was recorded between March and August of 2003. Not typical of the way the band like to work, the results evidenced on the album pay credence to the approach, although despite that, the approach should be a little swifter in future.

Prior to the recording of the album, two new songs were recorded. The first for an Australian vinyl compilation, the second for a split 7" with Czech Black Metal legends Root, plus yet another three tracks which were released by the Dutch label Soulseller Records. Featuring three Australian cult acts - Tyrus (Pre Hobbs Angel Of Death), Armoured Angel and WAR, the EP which became known as 'Tyus: The Doom War Of The Armoured Angel' cleared Soulseller's shelves in just three hours.

More recently Atomizer signed on with Agonia Records from Poland for limited edition PIC DISC releases of all three full length albums, with the AJNA Offensive from the USA doing a limited gatefold LP version of 'The Only Weapon Of Choice'. Having now decided to sign with Agonia for the worldwide release of 'The Only Weapon Of Choice' a domestic version has been released for Australian and New Zealand markets by Animosity International and is available through MGM distro in Australia and Lycanthropic Fervour Records in New Zealand. Atomizer expect to see 'The Only Weapon Of Choice' released by Agonia Records during February 2004. Agonia will also reissue Atomizer's debut album 'The End of Forever' on CD/LP and Pic LP. The reissue will feature two bonus tracks and will be called 'The Death Of Forever'

With a good 70 shows already performed, 2004 will see Atomizer hit New Zealand for the third time, with a September tour of Europe and the USA taking place also.

Atomizer's next releases comprise 7" Eps for Hells Headbangers in the USA, and Aura Mystique in France, a 10" mini concept album for Soulseller Records Holland, and their fourth, as yet untitled album.
