Apache Indian is an artist that has linked traditional Asian sounds with influences from mainstream Pop, Reggae and Hip Hop. Born in Handsworth (Birmingham, England) on the 11th of May 1967, Steven Kapur AKA Apache Indian has been recognized for linking different cultures through music, and becoming the first true International Asian Pop Artist.
Apache has enjoyed over a decade of success including; winning various awards from the Asian and Reggae Industries, 7 British top 40 hits including BOOMSHACKALAK, 4 Brit Award nominations, Mercury Music nomination, Ivor Norvello Award and the International Dance Award 1995.
Apache Indian was the first Asian artist to have his very own show on National Radio One (UK) and presented MTV Reggae Sound System from Kingston, Jamaica. He also presented 'Apache Goes Indian' for National TV Channel 4 (UK) from India and is currently presenting 'Soul Music' on television in the Midlands (UK).
Apache has toured the world extensively over the past decade performing in territories such as USA, Canada, Europe and Asia.
Apache was the first Asian artist to perform at Reggae Japansplash in '94 and again in '95 alongside artists such as Chaka Demus and Pliers, Shaggy, Frankie Paul, Yami Bolo, Beenie Man, The I Threes and many more.
