ANTIQUE

Antique are Nikos Panagiotidis and Elena Paparizou. They were born in Gothenburg, Sweden but they follow their greek roots. In 1999 antique released their first album "Opa-Opa" in Sweden. With that album Antique was established on the Swedish music scene with hits like "Opa Opa" (platinum) and "Dinata Dinata" (gold). During the year of 2000 Antique travelled all over Europe and promoted their first album. In the same year the album "Opa-Opa" released in Greece with the name "Mera Me Ti Mera".The success was huge. In 2001 Antique competed in the Greek Eurovision song contest with "(I Would) Die For You" and won, which took them to the final in Copenhagen where they won the third place. This was an historical day in Greece, since this was the best position ever in their Eurovision history. The single sold unbelievably well in Greece, a land where that is uncommon, and Antique was rewarded with at double platinum record. The award was presented with a grand party at the home of the Swedish ambassador in Greece on the Swedish national holiday. In Sweden "(I Would) Die For You" was one of the most played songs on the radio during 2001. The second album "Die For You" was released in June 2001. Antique's music is a blend of pop, club and Greek folk music and it is important for the group not to get caught up in one genre but to keep that great variety of style. Antique has during the year on 2002 been mainly in Greece where they have done a club show in Athens and Thessalonica. Antique released "Me Logia Ellinika" an album only for Greece. They have also recorded their third album in Athens. The first single from the new album is "Moro Mou" which was an instant radio hit in Greece when it was sent out to radio the other week. The second single was "Alli Mia Fora" which was one of the most played songs in the radios and in the clubs. The new album is like Antique's previous albums produced by C&N Project for C&N Productions. It was also C&N who from the beginning brought the Greek folk music sound to Sweden and combined it with the Nordic sound that now characterize Antique. In April 2003 Antique released "Blue Love" their latest album in Sweden. In the summer the same album released in Greece. The album was #1 in the greek charts for many weeks. In 2003 they also decided to follow a solo career. Good luck guys...
