ANGELA AMMONS

credit: the Official Site & Street Team Angela Ammons is an amazingly talented 18 year old singer/songwriter originally from Austin, TX, who now lives in Nashville, TN. Angela’s music counters the current trends of R&B or “Swedish” flavored pop with energetic rock-based songs. Take Natalie Imbruglia and mix her with the pop side of Alanis Morissette, keeping it upbeat, and you’ve got the idea. Hers is a fresh sound that is already gaining a great deal of music and film industry attention, even before the release of her first single, “Big Girl.”

Angela’s song “When It Doesn’t Matter” (co-written with Gen Rubin) is featured in the film “Save the Last Dance” and will be included on the second soundtrack to be issued from that movie. Combine her song-writing talents with her natural presence and remarkable voice and you can see why Angela is so special.

The first song from Angela’s self-titled debut is “Big Girl,” a high-energy song about a girl coming of age and declaring her intention to make it own her own. Coming from Angela, somehow you know that she will.

Angela says she wants to make waves in a different way than other music artists her own age. She says, "I have so much respect for performers like Britney Spears, but that's not my gig. I'm not a dancer, and I'm looking for a different kind of connection with my audience. I want to tell my stories. I want people to concentrate on what I have to say."
