ANASARCA

In July 1995 Heiner (drums) and Michael (vocals/guitars), left their former band Vomiting Corpses, right after the cd- release of "Coma (the Spheres of Innocence)", which was released by Invasion Records (Germany). Only three weeks later, they founded Anasarca. Five songs were created and another week later they recorded their first promotape entitled "Condemned Truth". This tape contains the songs "Condemned Truth", "Drowned and Rotten", "Dies Irae/ Day of Wrath", "Sick" and "Provocation, Hate, Fear", of which all are pure and brutal death/grind. At that recording time, Frank (guitars) and Chris (bass) joined Anasarca after they left another local band called Vae Solis. One year later, in 1996 Anasarca hit the studio again and recorded their second promotape entitled "Godmachine". It contains three songs of mind-devastating brutal, but pretentious and sometimes melodic death/grind as well. These songs are "The Weird Ways" (also on the "Deathophobia 4"- sampler and the "Repulsive Assault 2"- sampler (of Spanish Repulse Rec.), "Corrosive Eclipse" and "Like Thorns in my Head". In August 1997 Heiner left the band and Herbert, who plays in a band called EYE SEA too, joined' em. Because of his "grind and blast"- drum playing, ANASARCA became still more brutal and faster as before. The debut CD "Godmachine" was finally released in August '98 by REPULSE RECORDS. In September '98 ANASARCA and their labelmates CENTINEX did a tour crossing Spain and Portugal. In 1999 Anasarca broke with REPULSE RECORDS friendly and in late 1999 Frank (guitars) had to leave Anasarca because of family interests. Benjamin joined in early 2000 and some gigs have been played. The biggest show was at the "Fuck The Commerce III" Festival in Neiden. In June Anasarca signed to Danish MIGHTY MUSIC and the second Anasarca album "Moribund" was released the middle of February 2001 by the Danish label. In July 2001 a European tour with labelmates BEHEADED followed. Within this tour some little problems occured within the band. These problems continued as single dates were played. In November '01 Michael, as the last founding member, decided to pause with the band- not knowing if the band is repairable. At the moment ANASARCA is a two-man-band, composing songs for a possible new album. Only Herb and Michael are doing the brutal thing again. When they are able to enter the studio and when the album will be released is not sure yet. Hopefully everything will happen in 2003. If the band finds new members to join, ANASARCA will surely play LIVE again, but when and where ...
