Air Traffic

Air Traffic consist of four members, aged between 21 and 22. They are originally from Bournemouth on the south coast of England, although they are now located in London to achieve more exposure.

The band formed in 2004 and has played in, amongst other shows and events, NME Tour nights.

Having signed up to EMI in July 2006, the band was noticed by radio DJ Steve Lamacq and started to experience some mainstream success. Their single Never Even Told Me Her Name was played regularly on BBC Radio 1 and Kerrang! Radio.

Their music features heavy use of piano, and they have been described by NME to be like "Supergrass covering Little Richard".

They spent much of August and September 2006 recording at Rockfield Studio's in Monmouth, Wales. Four tracks were released as an EP on 30 October 2006, which included their second single Never Even Told Me Her Name. A music video has also been produced for this single by the company type2error, who also created videos for the likes of Paul Weller, Captain, Hope of the States and The Rakes.

The first single was released in July 2006 through the independent record label Label Fandango. 500 copies of the single were produced, all of which sold out within a few days of the release date.
