The xx have announced new UK tour dates for September
After last week's unveiling of new single "Angels", the 2010 Mercury Prize winners The xx have confirmed on Monday, July 23rd a trio of intimate UK live dates for September. The xx Tickets are on sale from 9am on Friday 27th July.
The London band are known for their minimalist sound. New track "Angels" sees the group sticking to their rule of "quiet is the new loud" and will be the lead single from second studio album Coexist released by Young Turks on 10th September.
The band unveiled the track via a message on their official website stating: "IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE WE’VE PLAYED YOU ANYTHING NEW. THIS SONG IS CALLED ANGELS, IT IS THE FIRST SINGLE FROM OUR NEW ALBUM, COEXIST. WE’VE BEEN PLAYING THIS SONG LIVE RECENTLY, SO IT FEELS GOOD TO SHARE WITH YOU THE VERSION WE'VE BEEN WORKING ON FOR SO LONG. WE HOPE YOU LIKE IT. XX THE XX"
Earlier on Monday, The xx revealed that they have "gained confidence" since the release of their debut album, xx. "It's nice not feeling cripplingly shy," Romy Madley Croft confided in an interview with The Vine.
The xx 2012 UK Live Dates are as follows: Sept 10th - London O2 Shepherds Bush Empire Sept 11th - Cardiff The Coal Exchange Sept 12th - Edinburgh Usher Hall
