The Killers prepares new album, shared Battle Born album trailer
American rock band The Killers follows Muse releasing an album trailer. Their new album is called Battle Born and the newly premiered video featured the band themselves in a montage of shots as a synth line builds in the background, culminating in a thundering crescendo and the message at the album will be released Fall 2012.
While last month singer Brandon Flowers made his soloe debut, he is now back with the band for teh very first project in four years. He previously explained the title of the album, which is also the name of the band's own studio and a nickname for their home state of Nevada: "In a sense, all Americans are battle born. Our ancestors came here for something better." Meanwhile, drummer Ronnie Vanucci added: "It's living up to its title. This is our difficult fourth record."
Songs include "Heart Of A Girl", "Flesh And Bone", "Carry Me Home"” and "Runaways", with production work by Steven Lillywhite (U2), Brendan O'Brien (Flowers' solo LP Flamingo) and Stuart Price, who produced the group's previous album, 2008's Day & Age. Damian Taylor is also credited as producer.
Flowers has also said the band have taken a "risk" leaving a near five-year gap between their last album Day & Age and their new one. He told Q: "It's still eclectic, I've not thrown the keyboards away. But it's definitely heavier."
