The Eagles Raised Money for Cancer Patients
The rock American band, The Eagles, managed to raise 12.5 million dollars for pancreatic cancer patients.
The band performed in front of an audience of 1,260 people at the new Forum in Los Angeles on Monday in honor of their former agent, Peter Grosslight, who is suffering from the disease.
The money raised at the event will go to the The Lustgarten Foundation, America's largest non-profit organization funder for pancreatic cancer research. Stand Up For Cancer donated 10 million dollars out of 12.5 to support the benefit.
Cablevision Systems Corporation, The Madison Square Garden Company and AMC Networks underwrote all costs for the evening guaranteeing all money raised will go to The Lustgardten Foundation. The Forum in Los Angeles was officially opened on Wednesday with a performance by the Eagles. The Eagles will perform six shows in total over the coming weeks at the newly refurbished venue.
