The Decemberists: What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World

The Decemberists: What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful WorldAt first I pondered if I should click download and grab a whole album from these Decemberists, a band I've never heard about, singing that Indie that I abhorred so much. I can't say it's Indie, because it has something of that Chet Faker, of that Iron & Wine.

It's poetry, it's love and beautiful lust in the early years, a tear-filled recline on Memory Lane's yellow-brick wall. You sit there and have a smoke, while these guys send swirly dim visions your way.

'And I, 17 and terminally vague I wrote it down and threw it all away Never gave a thought what you and I made And you, sibylline, reclining in your cube You tattered me and tattered me with The things you would, the things you wouldn't do You noticed how I never had a clue Never had a clue... You felt as sweet as honey dew'
