The Cult Vocalist Insults Fans
Ian Astbury, one of the members of the well-known British rock band, The Cult, has verbally insulted the band’s fans during the Festival Hall show in Melbourne.
Astbury shocked the audience with vulgar banter. The band’s vocalist and songwriter threatened the crowded with ejaculating in their faces if they didn't show how much they were enjoying the show.
This was not the only statement that the The Cult member made. According to some witnesses, Astbury told the crowd that Melbourne had “lost its rock and roll roots” and then complained that the crowd wasn't giving to the band.
The band came on stage at around 9:20pm and Astbury decided to show a video he had made at around 10, prompting fans to leave the venue early.
The Cult were touring Australia performing their Electric 13 album. The Melbourne show was the band’s last performance promoting the album.
