Steel Attack

Early 1992, Steve and Dennis started the first band together and with different people coming and going. They started out in 1995 with a band named "Mayer's Eve". But from 1992 - September 1995, Steve was playing the drums and Mayer's Eve had the following line up: Steve - Drums, Dennis - Guitar, Freddie - Bass, Ronny - Vocal and Mike - Guitar.

Freddie left the band because he was not actually into the music so the rest of the band had to search for another bass player (which is hard in the hometown with 20 000 people) but they had to change the line up again.

Since it so hard to find available musicians (that are not involved with to many other bands) the band started looking for a new drummer instead of Steve who told the other members that he got in contact with a drummer in a other band that was falling apart so Andreas de Vera got the job as the drummer and in meantime the singer Ronny quit the band in lack of time, so Steve took that part to.

Now the year is 1997 and the band changed the name from Mayer's Eve to Steel Attack because the band name Mayer's Eve was involved with to many members and they wanted to start out fresh again and with a name that tells you the sound of the music, Steel - Metal and Attack - the sound of the band.

The band was actually working with the following line up: Steve - Vocal and Bass, Dennis - Guitar, Mike - Guitar and Andreas - Drums. But once again a member left the band this time Mike had to quit for lack of time, so now it was February 1998 and the band was a 3 piece band till the end of May when they asked John Allan to join them as the lead guitar player for Steel Attack. John played in a other band till Mars 1998 but he got tired of playing covers (easiest way to get gigs, sad but true) so he quit the cover band just to get back to writing own songs and to play in a band that was writing fast and melodic metal original songs.

The band sent a demo to 6 record labels and within 5 days they got the first response from one and within 2 weeks the band got answers from the rest. After some time they decided that the AFM was the label that would listen to what the band had to say and not just -sign the contract and if not, forget the deal. So after some time the contract was changed several times and finally it was done and now the date is June 1998.

Next step, the recording of the album "Where Mankind Fails" in the Studio Underground between the date 25 Sept - 16 October 1998. And the choir and final mix was done 4 January - 11 January 1999.

The release date was 21 June.

But two weeks before the release came next thing. Andreas de Vera left the band and went back to his studies. He already told the band that in May but wasn't too sure if he should to that or not. But to let us be prepared for that we started rehearse with a new drummer Roger Raw and now we are thankful to that.

So Roger became the new drummer for Steel Attack, he is an old friend to the band and it all turned out to be great for the band.

So the line up now is:

Steve Vocal + Bass Dennis Guitar Roger Drums John Lead guitar

The story continues:

Roger left the band 4 Nov 2000 cause he got no time for being in a band, cause he is a single parent and had a hard time to find time for rehearsals etc. Then we got in touch with Andreas and so far we have done a couple of rehearsals and everything worked out great. Now Steel Attack is back in the original line up.

Steve Vocal + Bass Dennis Guitar Andreas Drums John Lead guitar So now the band will continue as it was from the "Where Mankind Fails" album.

We got a change to the Steel Attack story since Steve would like to quit the lead vocal and we got hold of the new lead singer Dick Johnson early 2001.

The line up can be found in the members section

There been another change now, Steve left the band and we done so far some auditions with the new possible member, who that may be is not decided yet since we got to try some more before we know who will fit in the band and fall into madness with us.

The problem with the mad bass man been solved and the one that was mad enough was Patrick Späth.

Just before Christmas 2001 Andreas left the band again and decided that he will stay out of the music. Good luck to you and thank you for the time we had. We had to audition a new drummer. After several rehersals with different drummers the one that got to be a Steel Attack member was Micke Stark.
