Spiritualized debuts first single 'Hey Jane' off upcoming album
The space rock pioneers Spiritualized have recently announced a new album coming out this spring, and also released its first taste with a single called "Hey Jane". Their upcoming album is entitled Sweet Heart Sweet Light and includes 11 tracks, comes out via Fat Possum on April 17th.
Recorded in cities such as Los Angeles, Reykjavik and Wales, Sweet Heart Sweet Light is the follow-up to 2008's Songs In A&E. "When you make a record, it has to be the single most important thing in your world. This time around, I wanted to do something that encompassed all I love in rock 'n roll music. It's got everything from Brötzmann and Berry right through to Dennis and Brian Wilson. I'm obsessed with music and the way you put it together and I don't believe there are any rules," said J. Spaceman, who's now coming up from a six months of medical treatment.
At the same time, Sweet Heart Sweet Light will undoubtedly be one of the signature releases of 2012. Spiritualized have already previewed the record live, playing it unannounced in its entirety during an uplifting show at the Royal Albert Hall, October 11th last year.
