Taken from SLO's Ep that's out 3rd May, 'Shut Out Of Paradise' left us mesmerized
I don't know if you guys enjoy bands with history, or singers that just turned right on that road to success, but it's our pleasure to advertise a singer that's releasing a breathtaking first album in May.
Jess, the voice behind Slo, is from London, and this song, 'Shut Out Of Paradise' is what Lucas Cranach never expected when painting his very dim 'Paradise'. "Heaven is here in the wreckage", goes Jess, "I love you as you are", "my broken imperfect reflection". It's a shout out for understanding and faith, faith that we can create our own perfection, instead of waiting for it to hit us in the face one afternoon. There's a bit at the end of the song that's absolutely genius. She turned the whole "if you love someone, set them free, if they come back ..." yada yada romance cliche into this beautiful one sentence delight: 'Give me a freedom that leads me to you'. Need we say more?
