Sheryl Crow Accused Lance Armstrong of Illegal Blood Transfusion
Sheryl Crow has reportedly witness her former boyfriend, Lance Armstrong, undergo an illicit blood transfusion. The 42 years-old professional cyclist was accused of doping in 2011. Last year he managed to avoid criminal charges, when a grand jury dropped the case. However, nowadays the Justice Department is suing Lance and others thought to have cheated the sporting rules and gaining funds for his team from the U.S. Postal Service.
According to “Wheelmen,” a book about the conspiracy written by the Wall Street Journal reporters Reed Albergotti and Vanessa O'Connell, Sheryl was with Armstrong when he received the illegal blood transfusion. The book due out next Tuesday, states that the singer accompanied the sportsman during a trip to Belgium in Armstrong's private jet for the procedure.
“Rather than try to hide the transfusion from her, Armstrong was completely open about it,” the authors wrote. “He trusted that Crow would have no desire to tell the press or anyone else about the team's doping program. He explained that it was simply part of the sport - that all cyclists were doing the same thing.”
Apparently Sheryl Crow told investigators that she was with Lance Armstrong when the event took place.
