Rod Stewart to release new album in May

Rod Stewart to release new album in MayNew Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Rod Stewart confirmed that he has just finished work on his first album of new material in more than a decade. The singer describes the album as "just a good, old-fashioned Rod Stewart album (with) a lot of mandolin and acoustic (guitar) and fiddles and good storytelling, I believe, too."

The album is entitled "Time" and is Rod's first new album material since 2001. He even wrote song for the project. "It's ready to go," Stewart says. "It's seven new songs by R.D. Stewart, that's me."

Stewart also said that "During the American Songbook period I thought that the art of writing songs had left. Suddenly, it all came flooding back to me. It was so much more enjoyable than when I used to write songs. I've got a bit more to write about now. They're grown-up songs. There's no 'Hot Legs' or 'Do You Think I'm Sexy?'"

Rod Steward hopes to release the LP on 7th May.
