Previewing Rock City's 'Who I'm Trying To Be' just isn't enough. New album on the way!
Rock City is basically an R&B band highly influenced by reggae and rap, but really ideally apart from all the decadence, violence and sex that today's rap and R&B songs promote. They're from Atlanta, where the pressure from rappers like 2 Chainz, Migos, Gucci Mane, Rich Homie Quan, K Camp, Soulja Boy, ILoveMakonnen, Pastor Troy and the likes must have been immense. The lust for rapid ascension and enrichment is humongous for some, so we're really amazed that singers like Big Boi, Akon, Lecrae, TLC, Outkast could originate from the same place. This is just to show that we all can have it bad in our youth, but some have the power and brains to grow up good, stable, bright and kind.
Rock City's last song, "Who I'm Trying To Be", sends out a great message: we're all becoming, we cannot stop becoming, so don't just love me for who I am(because I'm never somebody per-se, I'm a work of art in becoming, I'm an ever shifting image of myself), but love me for... and the title of then song says it all.
Don't forget to like them on facebook, because that's where you can find out the latest news from them and get your hands on their newest albums. Right now "Who I'm Trying To Be" isn't on any album. It's so fresh, that they didn't even talk about it. Their latest song that features Adam Levine from Maroon 5 is available on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon Music and Google Play.
