Robbie Williams Scores 1000th Number 1 Album on UK Charts
It’s a huge week for Robbie Williams and the U.K. Album charts.
The star’s new album, Swings Both Ways, has become the 1,000th record to top the UK charts, 57 years after Frank Sinatra had the first number one, with Songs For Swingin’Lovers, in 1956.
This is also Robbie Williams’s eleventh number one album as a solo artist, equaling thus Elvis Presley’s performance. If we include his four number ones as a member of Take That, the pop singer has been in pole position 15 times, the same as The Beatles.
