Enrique "Quique" Neira Leiva (born April 11, 1973) is a Chilean reggae musician.
Gondwana was lead singer since 1997, but in 2003 decided to make a solo career away from the band. Along with Malebrán Denisse sang the anthem of the 2006 Telethon. He also competed in the dance program Dance in TVN in 2006, where he was eliminated in the fourth inning.
Quique Neira was part of a generation of young musicians from the "New Rock Chileno" that arises in the first half of the decade nineties. First in the voice of the band Bambu Quique Neira showed his remarkable vocal rudeness and nobility as a lyricist. And years later as a leading figure of the Gondwana group, the most important reggae band in the musical history of Chile, with whom he recorded three of the biggest selling records in recent years in Chile. Peace, harmony in thought and speech and poetry of one of the best male singers of his generation.
Quique Neira began in 2003 a successful solo career which release two albums "Eleven" and "Good Things," both productions published by the multinational EMI. Chilean singer-songwriter has presented his music throughout the country permanently and crossed the border on several occasions to show the strength and charisma continent of its formation in vivo. A voice that crosses generational barriers beautiful verses of love and hope, Quique Neira continues to make history with the purity and loyalty of a large, as Bob Marley, no matter how handsome and injustices of some men raised his song in the search for a better world.
In December 2007, Quique Neira presents his third album, entitled "Jah Rock" (Seal Black Sheep). The disk is recognized by the artist himself as a "return to roots", and presents a sound (as opposed to the previous studio albums Neira) almost exclusively linked to reggae. The first single promoting the album becomes "Mr. Powa Man," which, had already become well known through constant touring made by Neira in 2007. So far, critics and fans themselves Quique Neira, have agreed that "Jah Rock" is one of the best albums in the singer's long career.
