Poor Man's Riches

Poor Man's Riches - Distant Shores lyrics

rate me

I see a figure in the distance, I don't know what it is

I think its walking on the water, how is this

I step out of the boat, I'm floating on the water

The figure in the distance is trying to come closer

There's something in the way that's keeping it from me

What is this plague that ever haunts me constantly

Can someone please help me get this wall out of my way

So I can see what's coming on those distant shores

Distant shores can seem so far away

When I hold the things of my past in my way

Jesus carried my cross to the Hill of Calvary

To take the burdens away from me

The wall blocking my way came tumbling down

And the figure in the distance kept reaching for me

The figure began to form a face

And a light began to shine all around Him

It was Jesus my prince of peace

He had His arms wide open

He was reaching out to me

Distant shores can seem so far away

When I hold the things of my past in my way

Jesus carried my cross to the Hill of Calvary

To take the burdens away from me

Jesus looked me in the eyes with a tear rolling from His cheek

He pulled me close and He held me

And then He picked me up in His loving arms

And He carried me home to those distant shores
