Watch Nicki Minaj' black-and-white new video for Freedom
Nicki Minaj unveils the official video for "Freedom", which is taken from her re-release of her sophomore LP "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded - The Re-Up". The clip was filmed in London earlier this month with director Colin Tilley.
The video is filled with symbolism scenes as an apocalyptic land, with stairways that head to the sky, a biblical scene as Noah's Arc type backdrop, foggy landscapes and gray skies.
The Young Money queen looks gorgeous as she is dressed in couture dresses and the shots alternate between black-and-white scenes and colored ones. That's how the director Colin Tilley imagines the freedom: from the black and white life to a colorful one, filled with more energy and light.
The brighter scene is when Minaj wears a crown and she shines like a real queen. I wanted it to feel timeless and classic, so it was important that we established a very intense backdrop for all of the setups,” Nicki said.
