Levitika, this beauty spot on Marilyn Manson's alter-ego: Zombie Barbie
As much as those growls remind us of the shock rock singer above mentioned, Levitika, an Australian artist, has a very powerful message behind those "I'm zombie Barbie" taunts. She's in a bit of a Frankenstein fit, as she sings "Don’t wanna be your toy no more / Don’t wanna be a corpse no more". Life is but a dream, she goes on reiterating as in that fairly well known song. Life's a dream that deserves to be dreamt by each and every one of us, is how this line should be interpreted. I need my individuality, cries out this song. I'm Zombie Barbie, I'm different, but I need to feel the world, to know it, through my own senses. It's actually the last desperate resort of a misinterpreted person. A fight between ego and superego? Why not?
Society turns living persons into undead in a desperate attempt at leveling, at unification. You cannot unite what is disparate. Levitika knows this, that's why her music is imbued with such good quality thought. Has she provoked you enough? ;)
