Neil Patrick Harris gets another recognition
The Drama League honored Harris (or Barney, as he is best known from his role in the TV series “How I Met Your Mother”) on Monday night at the Pierre Hotel during the organization’s 30th Annual Musical Celebration of Broadway.
The host was Whoopi Goldberg and the audience was entertained with performances by Audra McDonald and Zachary Levi, among others. The show also featured some musical performances from Neil’s career, not only in theatre, but also from his film and television roles.
Neil Patrick Harris is the last in a series of esteemed artists being honored by The Drama League. Angela Lansbury, Liza Minnelli, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Patti LuPone are just a few of the previous honorees. In addition to recognizing their talent, the event also has an additional purpose – to support educational initiatives for young artists.
Neil attended this event with his partner, David Burtka. Now, the honored artist is getting ready for Broadway again. He is going to star in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, with performances beginning on March 29.
