BBC to premiere The Story of Naughty Boy on Sunday
BBC Radio will premiere this Sunday 18th August on BBC 1 Xtra a documentary about UK’s biggest producer, Naughty Boy. Shahid Khan, AKA Naughty Boy, is the son of Pakistani immigrants and became one of the UK's most important and sought producer. He produced UK's biggest selling album of 2012 and 2013, Emeli Sandé's 'Our Version Of Events', and also the biggest selling British single of the year, 'La La La'.
The artist worked first as a pizza delivery boy and made beats for up and coming MCs. Naughty Boy also applied for a grant to the Prince's Trust and also to be a contestant in the game show Deal or No Deal. He was granted £5,000 from the Prince's Trust and he won £44,000 on Deal or No Deal! Naughty used this money to set up his recording studio and record label. After meeting Emeli Sande at a BBC Radio 1Xtra event, the two formed a strong working relationship and started writing songs for the likes of Wiley and Chipmunk, before working together on Emeli's debut album, 'Our Version of Events', which became 2012's biggest selling record in the UK. He has since worked with Rhianna, Professor Green, Cheryl Cole, Sam Smith and Wretch 32 to name but a few.
The documentary includes exclusive interviews from UK stars such as: Emeli Sande, Professor Green, James Arthur, George The Poet, Sam Smith, Bashy, Wretch 32, Tinie Tempah and Chipmunk.
