Nas to Release Illmatic XX Anniversary ProjectAmerican rapper, songwriter and actor, Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones, better known by his stage name Nas, is celebrating 20 years from the release of his debut album, Illmatic.

To commemorate the occasion, the hip-hop maven is reissuing the album in a double-disc anniversary edition. Entitled Illmatic XX, the upcoming re-release will be out on the 15th of April via Sony Legacy. Promising a collection of rare remixes and unreleased demos and freestyles, Nas’s upcoming project will also include the 10 original tracks, which have been re-mastered for the occasion.

The 40-year-old hip-hop legend is also planning to promote Illmatic in a US tour. In addition, Nas is also working on a documentary, whose purpose is also to advertise his forthcoming beloved project. The feature-length flick, entitled Time Is Illmatic, will be directed by One9 and produced by Erik Parker. It is expected to be released later on in 2014.
