Melanie Amaro Signed to L.A. Reid s Label Epic Records
The 19-year-old singer and winner of first edition of The X Factor (US), Melanie Amaro has signed to L.A. Reid's label, Epic Records. The record deal is her second major winning as she won $5 million contract from the singing contest and their own Pepsi Super Bowl commercial (in February).
The Virgin Island/Florida raised young singer was picked up in no time by Judge and music mogul L.A. Reid, who said in a statement: "I am pleased that she is now signed to Epic Records because I believe we have only scratched the surface on uncovering her talent and her inevitable journey to super-stardom."
According to reports Melanie isn't the only one who came out of the competition with a record deal. Two of the most-talked about contestants who were mentored by L.A. Reid on the show Chris Rene and young rapping sensation Astro (who will feature on Cher Lloyd's next single), are also said to be inking deals with Epic Records, part of Sony Music Empire.
