Mean Venus

MEAN VENUS is an all original modern hard rock band with influences ranging from the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and the Doors to Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath to more contemporary bands like STP, Velvet Revolver, QOTSA, Foofighters, and Audioslave. Rooted in the fertile soil of these diverse acts, MEAN VENUS is an explosion of raw energy fueled by years of studio, stage, and songwriting experience.

Emerging from the ashes of the now defunct musical fiasco, Negative Nine, MEAN VENUS has taken its music to new heights unrecognized in any previous incarnation of the band.

Retaining Negative Nine's original singer/songwriter, J (as well as the entire Negative Nine repertoire), MEAN VENUS has added Marcelo Cardosa on guitar and Jimmy "Whip" Whippert on bass.

In May 2007: MEAN VENUS' debut album--PCP--was finished giving rock fans new and old a taste of real rock and roll.

Armed with a slew of new material, MEAN VENUS has been tearing up stages since June 2006 and will be returning to stages June of 2007 supporting PCP.
