Maroon 5 to release new album Overexposed on June 26
[It's] one of our most diverse and poppiest albums yet, said frontman Adam Levine to Rolling Stone, which broke the news about the upcoming new album for 2012. It's titled Overexposed, the new LP - the band's fourth - will include ten tracks and will hit the stores on June 26th . Maroon 5 will precede the album with a live concert at KIIS FM's annual Wango Tango on May 12. <I>I can't wait for our fans to hear the record, as well as hitting the road to play it live for everyone later this year, Adam continued.
Meanwhile guitarist James Valentine added: <I>" 'Moves Like Jagger' was the first time we ever worked with an outside writer, so we decided to try it some more on this record. At this point in our career I think it was a good thing to completely mix up our process and it yielded good results, as well as a more collaborative spirit within the band." He continued gushing about the project, "We wanted to make something that sounded contemporary with the elements of a lot of early eras of pop music. This is our most 'pop' record ever and we weren't shy about really going for it."
A "rich, pop-infused collection" featuring 10 new tracks, the new CD was execute produced by top-notch music maker Max Martin with additional tracks produced by Benny Blanco and Ryan Tedder. The songs recorded for the effort included "Payphone" featuring Wiz Khalifa, "One More Night" and "Beautiful Goodbye".
