Carey Dissatisfied with American Idol Experience

Carey Dissatisfied with American Idol ExperienceMariah Carey wanted to let her fans know how she felt about her recent stint as a judge on American Idol.

According to the 43-year-old pop star, her true voice was muted during her American Idol judge experience, and she regrets the collaboration with the show.

“[The] real Mariah was so not there, “she declared during a radio interview on Elvis Duran and the Z100 Morning Show. “I should’ve been a mentor on the show and that’s it. I should’ve been the Jimmy Iovine” she declared. “Jimmy did a great job! He’s a little brutal sometimes and I didn’t always agree with his assessments, but yeah! I mean, Jimmy knows what he’s doing; he’s discovered a lot of great talent.”

The Grammy-winning shared the TV talent show’s judging panel with Nicki Minaj, Randy Jackson and Keith Urban. During the programme she engaged in public feuds with Nicki, feuds which the media strongly publicized to Mariah’s annoyance.

“I felt that going in the direction of making it a reality show was not something I signed up for,” she confessed. “We love everybody ... but we wish you would’ve tried it on a different season.” It seems that Mariah wasn’t aware of Nicki’s presence in the show when she signed the contract, “what happened was that I was led to believe that I was going to be in a three-panel show, like the traditional way and yet, somehow… well, I won’t get into the legalities.”

We’re sorry to hear that, Mariah!
