Little Wings

Little Wings - Sandy Babe lyrics

rate me

The sunset spreads

your in the west

I dance in chair to book store jazz

I see her face

forget the rest

Sandy babe upon my chest

and when I pull her close I can't explain

but I can almost make it rain

the sun is fading as its last in glass

though sunshining from my brain

In candid way be

with Sandy babe

hold her in the sand all day

take in the rays

the sun spinned flames

upon her skin in golden waves

I love her gaze

her sense of grace

can't tell you how

enamored that she stays

my Sandy babe in tiny wave

later by a fireplace

and on the wall with with her I feel it all

this place will never be the same

I whistle pretty like a pigeon call

just to keep her close again

sand taste like sugar, so sweet

sand taste like sugar, so sweet

when its on my Sandy babe

and maybe later when I'm homely gray

I'll explain in some way

the way the light falls kindly on my brow

when I'm leaving on this day

with my Sandy babe

all I've tried in vain

to harness compromise or tame

that special flame

from nowhere came

and I'm so warm my pits so stained

My eyes are stronger than they used to be

yea they feel like x-ray

I linger longer than I promise to

she seats her back so good I stay

with my Sandy babe, there is no other way

to find my golden any day

I preach and pine

I kneel and pray

my ghost out in the purple pain

This letter's longer than I promised you

and nearly twice as brave

and though the places that we've gotten to

long time we're gonna say

I can't explain, Sandy wait

I know I need you Sandy babe

I'd never trade

this move we've made

what else dare to come my way

and it is lighter then the light we know

this feeling holds the day

my heart can feel like such a happy home

when I brush the sand from her white face

it seems like sugar, so sweet

sand taste like sugar, so sweet

when its on my Sandy babe

hm, thought more about it. The lyric "I dance in chair to bookstore jazz" appears in the Mapache song "Love Can't Hold Me". Maybe this was right all along! Still not sure, tough... In any case, it sure do be a little misty lyric

ye, the words ain't right on this one. "the sun sets best here in the west I doesn't dare to boast or jest..." I'm not totally sure that even this is quite correct, but it's at least a little closer than the "bookstore jazz" line. This lyric can be heard a little more clearly in the Mapache cover of this song, and they've previously worked with Kyle Field, so I'd imagine their lyrics are correct. Hope this helps!
