Lily Allen Irked by Her Own Voice
Lily Allen can no longer stand the sound of her own voice. Although the 28-year-old singer has recently managed to climb to number two on the UK charts with the cover of Keane's “Somewhere Only We Know,” she doesn’t seem satisfied by the accomplishment. Apparently the reason of this distress is the Liliy’s voice. The artist “can’t stomach” her own music anymore!
“I can't listen to the song, I’ve gotta be honest. It’s quite shrill,” Lily told Radio 1 presenter Nick Grimshaw, according to UK newspaper the Mirror.
Fortunately for the singer, what still keeps her excited is the material on the new album. The pop star confessed that the motive that inspired her in writing the songs was revenge.
“I was in the studio and this person started being really horrible to me. This person was particularly nasty for no apparent reason. It was brilliant - it ignited this juvenile flame in my belly,” Lily said.
She also thanked a certain “Ms Banks” for inspiring her, hinting at her feud with pop star Azealia Banks. Apparently Azealia is not the only person that Lily has issues with. Her new single, “Hard Out Here” is reportedly critical of Robin Thicke’s controversial “Blurred Lines” video.
