In 1814 we took a little trip,

Along with Colonel Jackson down the Mississip.

We took a little bacon and we took a little greens,

And we ran and fought the British in the town of New Orleans.

We fired our guns and the British kept a comin',

There wasn't nigh as many as there was a while ago.

We fired once more and then we started runnin'

On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico.

well Old Hickory said we could take 'em by surprise,

If we didn't fire our muskets till we looked them in the eye

we held our fire till we saw their faces well

Then we opened up our muskets and we really gave them hell

We fired our guns and the British kept a comin',

There wasn't nigh as many as there was a while ago.

We fired once more and then we started runnin'

On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico.

Oh we kept our calm till we see the British come

There must have been a hundred of 'em beatin' on a drum.

We held our breath as we fired off the gun

and we sat around in circles just waiting for the fun

We fired our guns and the British kept a comin',

There wasn't nigh as many as there was a while ago.

We fired once more and then we started runnin'

On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico.

sing

Mexico Mexico Mexico

Well they ran through the brier

and they ran through the bramble

and they ran through the bushes where the rabbits couldn't go

They ran so fast that their ass couldn't catch them

Down the Mississippi to the coast of Mexico

We fired our guns and the British kept a comin',

There wasn't nigh as many as there was a while ago.

We fired once more and then we started runnin'

On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico.

We fired our guns and the British kept a comin',

There wasn't nigh as many as there was a while ago.

We fired once more and then we started runnin'

On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico.

We fired our guns and the British kept a comin',

There wasn't nigh as many as there was a while ago.

We fired once more and then we started runnin'

On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico.
