Lady Gaga is a 'Woman of the Year'
Lady Gaga is one of the several women to be celebrated for the annual event at New York City's Carnegie Hall.
The “Applause” singer, who graced the US magazine's cover this month, can praise herself with five Grammy Awards, 23 million albums sold, more than 40 million Twitter followers, and hundreds of wigs worn. She is also a talented singer, hot dancer, leader of the Born This Way Foundation, which works to end bullying, a daughter, a sister, and former Catholic-school girl known as Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. Briefly, whoever Lady Gaga is, she’s always fascinating, and she deserves to be a “woman of the year”!
Cindi Leive, the editor-in-chief Cindi Leive saluted the star, and others, for making a difference:
“Glamour's Women of the Year awards are all about saluting women whose work helps to change the world, and that mission has clearly been accomplished with this year's group of honorees. I'm so blown away by the range of achievement, bravery, depth, smarts, and moxie they have demonstrated,” Cindi declared.
Rose Byrne, Lena Dunham, model Karlie Kloss and Lily Collins were among other that attended the event. While Lily, presented the Game Changer award to Hawaiian surfer Carissa Moore, credited with raising the profile of women in the sport, Lena honored Melinda Gates with the Advocate award for her work in global health.
