Kitade Nana

A graduate of Hokkaido University of Education, Nana Kitade was born on May 2, 1987 in Sapporo, Hokkaido Prefecture. Learning to play piano by 3, writing lyrics at 12 and taking up the guitar at 14 lead Nana to peruse her dreams of being a singer after she left home for Tokyo.

In 2002 Nana was one of 40,000 applicants competing for a contract at a demonstration tape examination held by Sony Music. Passing the audition, Nana was signed to SME Records Inc. in October of 2002. Soon after she released her first single, Kesenai Tsumi which became the ending theme for the anime, Full Metal Alchemist.

In 2006 Nana was a musical guest at the North American anime convention, Otakon, in Baltimore, Maryland. After her overseas appearance her album titled 18 -eighteen- was released in the United States on Tofu Records on July 11th, 2006. Included, an English bonus track of KISS or KISS from her SLAVE of KISS single.

Besides singing, Nana also has a love for fashion and she created her very own Gothic Lolita line called Moon King. With this she has become a fashion icon for many young Japanese teen girls.
