Kim Jang-hoon (Hangul: 김장훈; born 14 August 1967[citation needed]), is a South Korean rock-ballad singer.
Biography
As Kim Janghoon was born weak, he spent his time singing. Although he was tone-deaf, singing was his only pleasure of life. He quit school and got a job as a DJ at cafes. After he finished his work, he always practiced singing. Long after keeping in touch with many musicians, finally he released first album[1] in 1991. Cho Dongik mainly wrote and arranged his music. That album included "On a sunny day", written by Yu Heeyul, "Always between you and I", written by Cho Dongik, "To the tomorrow", written by Cho Dongik. His second album,[2] including "Now", was released in 1993. Because popularity was considered more in that album than that of the debut album, many famous musicians took part in his album. Although he was a nameless singer for a long time, he found his own position owing to his live concert. As he showed his own real ability, he gained the title of the concert emperor. After releasing the third album[3] "I just sang my song", he gained a name as a singer. He jumped to stardom thanks to the fourth album "1998 Ballads For Tears".
Donation
Kim Janghoon advertised 'Dok Island' to the major media of USA, and donated a lot of money for poor people. His nickname is "donation angel", because he has donated over 8 billion won. But he refused to receive a presidential citation with the reason there are so many people who are better than himself.
