With Mötley Crüe and Guns N' Roses opening the floodgates for other similarly-styled glam metallists on the Sunset Strip in the late '80s, loads of forgotten bands, such as Kik Tracee, appeared in their wake. Comprised of members Stephen Shareaux (vocals), Michael Marquis (guitar), Gregory Hex (guitar), Rob Grad (bass), and Johnny Douglas (drums), the group caused a minor splash on MTV's Headbanger Ball program in 1991 with the release of the debut album on RCA, No Rules (produced by Slaughter bassist Dana Strum). But as any rock fan of the '90s knows, with the emergence of Nirvana and the alternative rock boom later the same year, bands such as Kik Tracee were quickly deemed passé. A six-track EP followed a year later, Field Trip (produced by Masters of Reality's Chris Goss), which sunk without a trace upon release, leading to the group's demise shortly thereafter. Former Kik Tracee vocalist Shareaux currently fronts a psychedelic rock band called Revel 8. ~ Greg Prato, All Music Guide
