Kelly Clarkson pais homeage to Etta James, covers 'I'd Rather Go Blind'The winner of first season of "American Idol", Kelly Clarkson gave a great redention of Etta James' blues hit "I'd Rather Go Blind" over the weekend, in front of the crowd at Radio City Music Hall in NYC.

The 73-year-old Blus Diva Etta James passed away from complications of leukemia at a Riverside, Calif. hospital on Friday, January 20th. As she is currently on tour promoting Stronger album, Clarkson paid a homeage to Etta during her recent concert in New York. Before launching her performance she shared a message with the fans gathered: <i."This isn't 'At Last' because everyone really covers that and so I wanted to do my favorite, actually. Kelly ain't a stranger of Etta's music, as she previously performed during the "American Idol" audition Etta's single "At Last". The pop/rock singer kicked off her "Stronger" tour on January 13th at MGM Grand Theater in Foxwoods, Mass. and will stay on the road until April with her last performance on date 10 at Valley View Casino Center in San Diego. Recently, the "Mr. Know It All" singer has been tapped to be an advisor on The Voice, where she will help along the contestants' pipes who land on coach Blake Shelton's team.
