New Album Out From Jon Connor
It’s called “Best In The World” and it’s an homage to Kanye West. Jon Connor uses several well-known beats from Kanye. Since October, Jon is a part of Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment label. Apparently it was something more than just pure talent that landed him the deal with the famous producer. It was also chemistry. This is what he told MTV News about his experience of working with Dre: “He liked the music and he liked what I was doing. He respected what I was doing. It was just at that point, just going in the studio and seeing if we had chemistry and vibed out. You know, as people. You can be the greatest rapper in the world. You could be the greatest artist in the world, but if you a dick, you know what I’m saying, ain’t nobody gonna want to work with you. It don’t matter how good you are, but it was like that’s what sealed the deal…It was the chemistry musically and it was the chemistry as just two good people.”
Coming back to the new mixtape, here’s a fun fact: it’s also known as “The Late Registration Of A College Dropout Who Had A Dark Twisted Fantasy Of 808s And Heartbreak”. But I think we’ll stick to “Best In The World” for now. Here’s a taste, with “Last Call”:
