John Mayer walks the streets in his new video Queen Of California
Once he decided to make his comeback, we were sure that John Mayer would impress us all over again. And his ewly premiered clip for the middle country vibe tune "Queen of California" is just great.
While he traveled west on an expedition to get in touch with himself on his previous video for "Shadow Days", he is now seen going out into the streets and explores different locales. The video - filmed entirely in one shot (or at least edited together to make it seem like it was) - opens with the singer looking straight at camera and strumming his guitar while sitting on his bed. He then walks out the door and wanders around. He braves the rain and steps into a forest. He steps out of tree-filled splendor and winds up backstage at a fashion show and on the set of a photo shoot. He pays no attention to the models and keeps walking.
Mayer's new relaxed attitude is due to him finally deciding to grow up after enjoying his celebrity a little too much. "For a couple of years, it was just figuring it all out, and I'm glad I actually stayed out of the spotlight," he told Ellen DeGeneres in an interview back in May. "It was like, 'No, idiot. Go away and be 33 and 34 instead of 28 for the fourth year.' " He now resides in Montana.
