Jessie J is the big winner of 2011 MOBO Awards with 4 trophies
The 16th annual ceremony of Music Of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards which was held last night, October 5th in Glasgow has announced its winners. The 'Price Tag' hitmaker Jessie J was the big winner as she totalled a four trophies winning.
Jessie grabbed Best UK Act, Best Newcomer, Best Song - for her single 'Do It Like A Dude' and Best Album for Who You Are. Truly emotional, Jessie gushed when receiving her prizes: "Wow. I did not expect to win that at all. I just want to say the biggest thank you to my fans because I watched this last year by myself in my living room and no one knew who I was and now I just won best album. That is epic. Thank you everyone."
Adele won Best UK R&B/Soul Act. While she is recovering at home from a vocal chord hemorrage, Adele expressed her gratitude in a video message : "Thank you very much for this Mobo award. It means a lot to me. I'm so sorry that I can't be with you there tonight".
Rihanna was given Best International Act beating other nominees like Alexis Jordan, Aloe Blacc, Beyonce Knowles, Bruno Mars, Cee-Lo Green, Jason Derulo, Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa. She wasn't present at the ceremony though.
Tinie Tempah received Best UK Hip-Hop/Grime Act and Tinchy Stryder got awarded as Best Video for his Dappy-featured 'Spaceship' clip. Check out in here the full list of winners of last night's MOBO Awards 2011:
