I'm going to put down four reasons to listen to Jesse Malin's new album called "New York Before the War"(I don't know what they are, I'm just trying to see if I can reach 4 reasons):

Anti-corporate music
Revival of that old: from themes to beats, he reminds us of the golden 80'
Very poetic: though he mentions him in a song and we might seem phoneys for immediately using the name, Jesse's lyrics remind us of Robert Frost's poems
Fascinating choice of words. There's this one song called 'Boots of Immigration' that gave us a hard time (pretty sure 80% of the lyrics are off)
