Some Biographical info: Married to the beautiful and intelligent Lisa. Two children, excellent daughter Halley, and the energetic Jimmy, both are students at local schools. Encinitas homeowner since 1986 Insurance broker since1981. Owner of Stocks Insurance, Inc; a multi-line agency specializing in Health Insurance,located in Carlsbad Grew up in L.A. (the San Fernando Valley), fled to San Diego in 1981, moved to Encinitas in 1986 to buy a house and raise a family... quality of life... Encinitas Parks and Recreation Commissioner 1997-1999, vice-chair 1998-1999. Success: Co-wrote Proposition R , Encinitas 1998, dedicate part of the tax revenue from hotel guests for beach restoration, passed by the voters with over 2/3 majority. Success: Spearheaded the fight to eliminate field use fees from Encinitas based youth sports groups, city council passed unanimously in 1998. Disappointment: Attempted to work with Sacramento bureaucracy to improve/fix the Healthy Families/expanded medi-Cal programs. (Ideas are still valid). Success: Brought the Nationally televised Women's Team triathlon to Encinitas. Start/Finish director, United States Triathlon Series & World Championship races, Oceanside. Past member: Encinitas trails master plan sub-committee, linear park sub-committee, community center sub-committee, E.S.D. site sub-committee, etc. Past member of Downtown Encinitas Main street Association Board member N.C.T.D., San Diego Blood Bank Foundation, Encinitas Rotary Club Former Motorcycle Safety Foundation instructor, Coronado Recreational cyclist, swimmer, and triathlete, (except during injury recovery periods which seem to have increased with age!)
