Video premiere of Jane's Addiction single 'Underground' shot in a dark brothel
Alternative rock band Jane's Addiction just premiered a psychedelic and dark visuals for "Underground" single included on their 2011 album The Great Escape. Filmed with director Robert Hales, the Perry Farrell-fronted band's clip feature in a dark smoky setting which is actually in the Los Angeles' Cafe Club Fais Do-Do, where the partygoers play poker and Ouija boards among other seedy things.
Talking about the clip's concept, Perry told Spinner.com: "[We] perform in a Los Angeles brothel built in the 1920s. There are Siamese Gargoyles, seances, card games and a man in a white fedora who was also on the cover of 'In Through the Out Door.' People get made love to and murdered in the backrooms while the band plays on."
Meanwhile, the director said he tried to create "a video that really immerses itself in what the band is all about-that off-kilter vibe, kinky imagery, and 'lust for life' spirit that's embedded in their music." Enjoy your watch below!
