After studying at Edinburgh university, James gained an acting Diploma from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
He appeared in Eastenders, London’s Burning, Out of Sight, and most recently as the gentleman musician in Regency House Party which was a co-production between Channel 4 in the UK and Thirteen/PBS in the US.
Interviewed live on radio all over the UK and appeared on live interview in New York on CNN News as a result of his role in the show.
He originally formed the band Little Giants in 1999, before writing some extraordinary new material that forms his own new album and live sound.
James’ music mixes the sound of intricate acoustic guitar, piano, oboe, violin, cello and occasionally trumpet with the raw talent of John Miller (St Etienne, The Yards) on drums and PJ Phillips (Tom Jones). Carrington’s music, accompanied by the effortless beauty of Mike Brown’s lead guitar (Little Giants, Mainline) is as beautifully crafted as it is unclassifiable.
