Singer-songwriter Tyrone Wells masterfully blends pop, soul, and rock infusing each song with energy and passion. Listening to Tyrone with your eyes closed, you'd think you were listening to a legendary soul-singer - which is in stark contrast to this tall, skinny white boy (Not to mention his name is Tyrone).
Tyrone's emotion and charisma have captivated audiences throughout the west coast in venues such as the House of Blues, Galaxy Theater, and The El Rey Theatre. He performed on the main stage at the 2006 NACA (Nat. Assoc. of Campus Activities) convention and set the record for the HISTORY of the convention with 152 offers. Tyrone booked over 90 dates from August 2006 through March 2007.
Tyrone's independent movement continues to win avid supporters, having sold over 25,000 of his self-distributed records through live performances.
In 2004, Tyrone won the award for the Orange County Music Awards Best Male Artist, as well as the 2004 UCLA Spring Sing Best Overall & Best Solo Artist awards. Also in 2004, Tyrone had 15 TV placements in shows including One Tree Hill (WB), "Numb3rs" (CBS), "Ghost Whisperer" (CBS), "Summerland" (WB), Rescue Me (F/X), North Shore (FOX), The Mountain (WB) and "The Bedford Diaries" (WB).
Tyrone Wells has a classic and powerful voice that can fill a thousand seat capacity room while singing A Cappella, which is demonstrated in his emotional set closer When All is Said and Done. To quote Tyrone, "Music is the mistress and sometimes obsession that keeps me up at night, pleading for some beautiful resolution."
Tyrone Wells just released his third independent album, Hold On, with a sold-out release party at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles. The new album is a creative blend of his singer-songwriter roots, soul and rock.
