Described as a "very hopeful and positive" track, Rihanna unleashed her brand new single "Diamonds". Freshly premiered on Z100, the track comes as the first single from Rihanna's forthcoming seventh studio album.

The Barbadian songstress took it to Twitter and her followers for their support following its first public play and debut on her new website, rihanna7.com : "No thank YOU!! This song is for everybody! Don't let nobody take your shine! #Diamonds (sic)".

The Stargate produced single is said as being "laid back but hopeful," but though it sounds like a slow dance song, it's not. Rihanna said: "It's a record that gives me such a great feeling when I listen to it. I'm excited to surprise [the fans] sonically. I always wanna make it interesting, a little fresh and ahead of what's on the radio."

"You're a shooting star I see, a vision of ecstasy/When you hold me I'm alive, we're like diamonds in the sky," Rihanna sings on the track. "So shine bright, tonight you and I/ We're like beautiful diamonds in the sky/ Eye to eye, so alive/ We're like beautiful diamonds in the sky." Listen to it below.
