Radiohead's drum technician, Scott Johnson, has been named as the man who died after a stage collapsed before the band's concert at Downsview Park, Toronto on Saturday night (June 16). A relative confirmed to the BBC that the 33-year-old from Doncaster had died when the roof of the stage fell on top of him. According to Emergency Medical Services' deputy commander David Viljakainen the drum technician who was trapped under the rubble was pronounced dead at the scene.

A further three people are injured, with one reported to be in a serious condition, in the incident at Downsview Park. A 45-year-old man was hospitalized with a head injury and two others were treated at the scene for minor injuries at the Downsview Park venue, said Viljakainen. The massive stage collapsed an hour before the gates opened to the public and queues were already forming outside the venue. Emergency crews were quick on the scene and the area was evacuated. The victims were all part of the team setting up equipment.

Radiohead later announced on their Twitter that the sold-out show would be cancelled and advised fans to stay away from Downsview Park. They Tweeted: "Due to unforeseen circumstances tonight's at downsview park tonight has been cancelled. Fans are advised not ot make their way to the venue." Band's website had listed the concert as being sold out, with 40,000 tickets sold.

Meanwhile, Dan Snaith who goes by the name Caribou, was due to support Radiohead last night at the show. He posted his sympathy towards those affected by the incident on his Twitter profile. He Tweeted: "We are profoundly saddened by what happened today. All our sympathy is with the band andcrew and the families of those affected."
