Paul Michiels - THE LIGHT lyrics

rate me

THE LIGHT by Paul Michiels
Suddenly the light is shining down on me

At first I was afraid that I’d go blind indeed

But than after a while I began to smile

just like a carefree juvenile

after all this time down in the dark

All the world is suddenly so fine for me

The larks up in the air are happy on the wind

For I really can’t say how I got this way

Things were so different yesterday

Ain’t it great how life can turn up on a dime

I used to stand in line

hoping that in time

the darkness would pass over

And I know it’s not the way

I’ve got to cease the day

pick up the fight

No more howling at the moon at night

Suddenly the light is shining down on me

I’m standing in a brilliant luminosity

I may sound kind of touched or completely nuts

But that don’t bother me too much

Life is much to short to give in

I used to try to hide everything inside

Thinking I was kind of nowhere

But now I’m feeling self-assured

I think I found a cure

The future looks bright

The only blues are in the sky

So finally the light is shining down on me

And even if old weatherman does not agree

I will simply proclaim what’s a little rain

it comes and goes so why complain

And just a little light makes rainbows glow

And finally the light is shining down on me

The light is shining down on me

On me
