Watch the animated video of M. Ward's latest single 'The First Time I Ran Away'
While preparing to release his new solo album A Wasteland Companion, M. Ward has premiered the music video in support of his track "The First Time I Ran Away", which is an animated clip directed by Joel Trussell - which previously worked on the "Chinese Translation" vid.
It follows a three-part story of a young folk which runs from home and travels around the world, and joins an old loner in a shelter somewhere near a river. Watch the brand new video below.

Talking about the album, Ward said: "Between now and when I made 'Hold Time' there has been a lot of traveling, which requires a lot of reckoning with what to leave behind and what to carry - material and otherwise - and thinking about what I want versus what I need, creatively and otherwise. I wanted to get a reflection of that on the album."
