Justin Bieber turns himself in
Justin Bieber was charged with assaulting a limousine driver in Toronto a month ago, the police said. The pop star arrived around 7:30 pm and was taken inside the police station to circumvent the wild fan hoard. Justin became a prime suspect after he didn't show up for questioning, told TMZ.
'We're told Toronto cops wanted to talk to Justin but he didn't come in for an interview and they got annoyed,' the website wrote.
'Law enforcement sources say Justin is now in Toronto and in the next hour will go to the police station… 'Sources say Justin will be booked for assault, given a citation and released on his own recognisance.' Justin’s representative sent a written statement to CNN as the singer was inside the police station.
"The Toronto Police Service requested that Justin Bieber appear in Toronto today to face an allegation of assault relating to an incident on December 29, 2013," the statement said. "We anticipate that this matter will be treated as a summary offense, the equivalent of a misdemeanor in the United States."
"Our position is that Mr. Bieber is innocent," the representative said. "As the matter is now before the court, it would be inappropriate to address the specifics of either the allegation or of our defense at this time."
Bieber is due in court to face the Miami charges on February 14.
